Chapter 7: Fearful Shadows
Amu opened her eyes, shocked, 'did Ikuto just ask me to be his girlfriend?' she thought.
Ikutos face was inches from hers, but he was waiting for an answer.
Ikuto stopped waiting and went closer to her but Amu stepped back."I cant" she said as she looked in another direction,
she didnt want to see Ikuto's reaction because she was afraid he would change her mind. "I cant be your girlfriend" she told him. "was my timing bad?" Ikuto asked, trying to get Amu to look at him again, but she wouldnt. "kinda" she said still looking away.
"then later " ikuto said, gently moving Amus face so she was looking at him, "then later" he repeated, "i'll ask again" then he went to kiss her again but she avoided
it by putting her hands around his neck and hugging him instead. then he hugged her aswell. Over his shoulder she whispered "Ikuto, things are too complicated."
his grip tightened "but if your my girlfriend he'll be able to comfort you like this and only i can do that. Amu, dont make me jealous." he explained.
"im sorry, Ikuto." Amu said softly as she released her arms and put them at her sides. Then ikuto pushed her hair back again, "Ikuto" Amu said in an annoyed tone.
He chuckled, "but apparently you let him kiss you." Amu sighed "because he caught me off guard, but anyway shouldnt you go."
"thats not nice, kicking me out." Ikuto said holding one of amus hands with one of his. "but, im not. its just getting late." amu said releasing her hand from his.
"ok then.Goodnight" he said as he kissed her on the cheak. "Ikuto" amu said under her breath. he smiled, "you want me to stay? I'll protect you from anythin scary." Amu sighed again, "nice try, but i dont think so." Ikuto smiled, "Goodnight" Then finally he went. Amu closed the door to the balcony and closed the curtains. She then saw her three charas, who she rarely sees lately, standing there smiling.
"Ikuto-kun is very smitten for Amu-chan" Ran said, waving her arms around. "Hes trying hard to get Amu." Miki said. "He wants Amu to be his girlfriend so that Kukkai wont take her away." Su said softly. Amu turned red. "thats not it" "Yes it is, he even said so" Miki said. "He's trying to make you say yes, amu-chan" ran cheered.
"I know, but things are too much lately." amu told them. "or you dont want Kukkai to think that just because he
dumped you, you have chosen Ikuto. right?" Miki said. "Well..." amu trailed off.
The next morning Amu woke up and discovered that the charas had gone to do another 'mission'. Plus her parents and Ami decided to go to town so they
left early in the morning and decided to stay for a few days. So she would practically have the house pracitically to herself for a while. Just after Amu finished
her breakfast her phone rang. "Hello?" she said into the phone. "Hey, Amu. its kukkai." there was a pause. "i was wonderin if you wanted to hang out today" Kukkai
said through the phone. Amu smiled "sure. When and where?" she said. "In an hour, at the cinemas?" Amu agreed and they worked out what movie they wanted
to watch.
An hour later Amu met Kukkai at the cinemas, he was waiting for her. They went in and watched the movie, during the movie when it was funny, Kukkai and Amu
would laugh and then Kukkai would stop and see Amu laughing, he saw her smiling face and sparkling eyes and it was not only untill she noticed him looking
at her that then he turned back to the screen.
After the movie they went down the streets and past an alley way to get to a place where Kukkai said Amu might like. The alley way was dark, compared to the
nice sunny day. Just when they were just about in the middle they heard noises behind them. Amu looked at Kukkai with worried eyes but then they kept walking.
But seconds later a tough looking man wearing a black coat appeared infront of them. They turned around, to go back where they came from but another man
wearing the same thing, appeared. They were trapped. Amu stepped closer to Kukkai. Kukkai turned back to the guy who was in the direction that they wanted
to go, and with a stern voice he said, "we just want to get through" Then the man behind him sort of chuckled. Then after a pause the man that was in the
derection they came from grabbed amu. Kukkai then without hesitation went to punch him but the other guy held his arms back and said to Kukkai, "dont
worry, we'll let you go. After all, we only want the girl." Kukkai became more angry and struggled free and he looked over at Amu who was struggling too
"let go" she screamed, Kukkai could see the fear all over her face. Kukkai struggled more to be released but the man gripped him tighted and put Kukkais hands
behind his back and the man slammed Kukkais face and front body against the wall, like what a cop would do to a criminal. "Kukkai! amu yelled to him."
the men ignored amu. "stop struggling, your free to go after where done here." the man said who got hold of kukkai. "let us go!" amu screamed again, but the
two men ignored her again. She noticed that they werent going to listen to her so she screamed for help "somebody help us! help-" she screamed but then
the man who had her put his hand over her mouth. Then he released her but before she could do anything he hit her in the back of the head and she fell to the
ground unconscious, her head bleeding. "Amu!" Kukkai yelled to her, moving his head off the wall and struggling to get to her. He looked at the guy who hit her
"You god damn-" Kukkai said as he managed to break free, he went and punched the guy who hit Amu. Then the guy who got Kukkai before shoved him
and slammed Kukkais back against the wall and grabbed his colar. Then he turned to the other guy, "Maybe we should just grab this kid because the girl will
come anyway." the other one though for a moment and before he could speak Kukkai yelled to them "take me instead! leave her the hell out of this!"
The other guy thought some more and finally decided.
Not even half an hour later, Amu woke up. She looked around, she was in the alleyway. She froze, because along with the two men, Kukkai was gone.
