Chapter 9: Forced Thoughts

Kukkai stared at her, the micro-chip had took effect but, she looked as if the life had been sucked out of her. Her expression was blank and the shine in her eyes was gone.

Amu slowely blinked. "ku-kun" she said with a blank, lifeless expression.

Kukkai thought hard for a moment then said to her, "are you alright Amu?"

with her face still blank she nodded. He helped her stand up "Amu, do you want to go out again?" he asked. Amu looked up at him with those lifeless eyes, "I want what Ku-kun wants." she said then it seemed as though she forced a smile on her face.

Kukkai smiled a little, "You've never called me 'Ku-kun' before" he said.

"Ku-kun has always wanted a nickname from Amu-chan." she said softly. Then she hugged Kukkai, they wrapped their arms around eachother

and Kukkai rested his chin on her head. After a moment he said, "Amu, you'll stay away from Ikuto right? Dont talk to him, dont let him talk to you, okay?"

Amu stopped hugging him and looked up at him "okay" she said. Kukkai smiled, but he didnt feel good inside, he felt sick to his stomach, he knew what the feeling was but he ignored it. The feeling was guilt.

 

Two days had passed and Kukkai and Amu spent alot of time together. They went to the beach together, the zoo, the movies and had a picnic at the park. 

Kukkai kissed Amu on the cheak and said "Goodnight" then he went out the door and began walking home. Amu went upstairs and blankly stopped in the middle of her room, she looked over and saw her three charas. Their eggs were darker than before and they were always sad. They stayed in their eggs all day. Ran poked out from her Xegg, she looked weak. "Amu-chan" she said in a soft sad voice. Then Su and miki poked out of their eggs too. "this isnt your would-be self." Su said softly. Miki didnt say anything she just stared at Amu. Amu ignored them and they went back into their eggs. Not long after, Ikuto  appeared and Amu turned her back to him. "Hey, we havent talked for a bit. Plus I need to know why your going out with Kukkai, because when I asked you to be my girlfriend you said things are too complicated, but not complicated enough for you to be going on picnics and stuff with him, I was at the park today and I saw you two." he said.

Amus mind flash to how Kukkai said to stay away from Ikuto and not to let him talk to her. "I'm going out with Ku-kun so stay away from me. I dont want to talk to you nor you talk to me" she said.

Ikuto gritted his teeth but then he relaxed "fine. I'm sure you have your reasons, but call me when you want to talk" he said.

"I dont want to talk to you" Amu said, her back still to him. Ikuto turned to jump off the balcony,

he decided it was better to ignore what she just said. He walked across the street and saw Yoru with his alleycat buddy's then the alleycats all ran off and Yoru went to Ikuto. Yoru began to hover over Ikuto as he walked but then he sort of froze and looked in the direction Ikuto came. Ikuto turned to him, "what is it, Yoru?" he asked.

Yoru kept looking in that direction and said, "theres this bad feeling-nya" Ikuto looked in that direction too, "an X-egg?" he asked. Yoru thought

for a moment, "not quite-nya. its like its becoming an X-egg but something is forcing it not to-nya" he said, then continued. "theres like two-no three-nya, like this." Ikuto then turned back and began walking the opposite way from the 'almost X-eggs' Yoru looked at Ikuto.

"Their not X-eggs, so i dont need to do anything, plus i'm sure Amu has got it covered." Ikuto said flashing back to her telling him she dosent want to talk to him.

'its for a good reason, right? Amu.' Ikuto thought.

 

The another day past and then the next morning Amu began to walk towards the park where she was going to meet up with Kukkai, for their date. Ikuto appeared in front of her. He was about to say something but Yoru came rushing over to him. "Ikuto-nya! I went to go see where those almost X-eggs were, because the feeling gets worse and worse-nya! i can't take it-nya! but I followed the feeling-nya. And I...I saw Amu's charas-nya! their pretty much X-eggs-nya! but their disappearing-nya!" Yoru explained. Ikutos eyes widened and he looked at Amu who was looking at the ground. "Amu-" Ikuto began to say but then she walked past him and before she could walk any further away from him, he grabbed her arm, stopping her. "Amu, whats going on? Are you in some sort of trouble? I'll help you, just stop avoiding me." he said. there was a pause

"I dont want your help. I dont need help. I'm happy the way things are." she said.

"but-" Ikuto's voice trailed off.

"I love ku-kun" she said.

Ikuto clenched his jaw then said angrily, "since when do you call him 'Ku-kun' ? "

Amu then yanked her arm free but Ikuto put his hands on her shoulders and spun her around to face him. She looked up at him. Ikuto looked into her eyes and froze. He saw Amu's eyes, they were lifeless, blank, the shine in them was gone. Her face expression was like dead. He knew something was definetly wrong. Then he thought he saw something above them and he looked up. He couldnt believe his eyes. Three X-eggs hovered above Amu. He could see the patterns, they were Amu's! Then Dia hovered above them, she was also in an X-egg! Ikuto and yoru stood there speechless as they could actually feel all the sad energy coming from them.
